Peru Warmikuna Women's Cooperative

Peru Washed Warmikuna Women’s Cooperative G1

In 2010 a handful of women came together in Peru’s Junin, coffee growing region. Twelve years later the Warmikuna Cluster was born.

The Warmikuna Co-op comprises of 55 women who follow sustainable agronomic standards. Six farms are spearheading profitable sustainability and regenerative practices and leading the way for others to follow.

Warmikuna mean ‘women’ in Quechua, one of Peru’s oldest languages. Quechua was the language spoken by the Incas and is till used throughout several South American countries today.

The women’s cooperative washed bean is grown at altitudes ranging from 1100-1650 MASL. Grown in the one of Peru’s most biodiverse regions between the Andes and the Amazon.

This medium bodied bean is earthy and sweet with a bright and pleasant acidity. Roasted dark we built a sweet and lingering cup with notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar and grapefruit.
